On July, 2-3nd 2007 the official delegation headed by Head of
Neman city district Alexander Melnikov left in the Belarus city Lyda with the purpose of signing of the Agreement on an establishment of partner relations.
The draft agreement has been confirmed by District Council of deputies on April, 25th, 2007. In particular the sides plan to develop cooperation in agriculture, industries, business, trade, in the youth policy, etc.
The structure of delegation of Neman city district included the deputy of District Council V.A.Shulga, the assistant to the Head on the international connections and public relations E.V.Dunaeva.
The city of Lyda is founded in 1323 by great Lithuanian prince Gedimin. From the end XIV and prior to the beginning of XVI century Lyda is a grand-ducal city. As well as in Neman Lyda possesses a majestic monument in city centre. It is a fortress which has been constructed per 1323-1325 by prince Gedimin and during several centuries remained a powerful citadel on the western grounds of Belarus.
Today the region Lidsky is grantfree region of Belarus. The industry of region includes the enterprises of mechanical engineering and metal working, instrument making, building materials, chemical, food wood branches of a national economy. Monthly average industrial outputs of Lyda Region makes nearby 20 million US dollar. The assortment of let out production is huge: buses, food concentrates, crystal, optical glass, footwear, fixtures, furniture, paint and varnish production, building materials and so forth. It would be desirable to note, that Lyda and region involve with external cleanliness, furniture.
Signing of the agreement has been dated for celebrating Day of Independence of Belarus on July, 3rd. The same days in Lyda the third industrial exhibition « Lyda-Region 2007 » has opened. Solemn ceremony of opening of Day of Independence of Belarus, III-th regional presentation-exhibition « Lyda - Region-2007 » was spent on the central area. Chairman of a district executive committee A.P.Hudyk opened an exhibition. With a congratulatory word to inhabitants of Lyda Head of Neman city district A.S Melnikov has addressed also.
Undoubtedly signing of the agreement on an establishment of partner relations in trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation has opened an opportunity for favorable development of the business initiative from businessmen and the organizations of Neman and Lyda.
